FINAL PRODUCT

EVALUATION QUESTION 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media product?

Our Documentary and ancillary texts use the codes and conventions from real media products. We studied these codes and conventions before creating our project as we wanted our products to look professional.

I created a video showing the different codes and conventions which I used to construct my own Documentary. I identified these codes and conventions at the start of the project by looking at documentaries such as, 'That Thing', 'The Devil made me do it', and 'The Music Biz.'

I created a Prezi displaying how we used the codes and conventions in our Radio Trailer and Print Advert. These codes and Conventions where made after looking at other Channel 4 ad's and listening to other radio trailers like 'Special Needs Pets' which was to be shown on Channel 4.

EVALUATION QUESTION 2

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

This video below shows the different ways in which the 3 texts are linked and how this has been made to be effective.

EVALUATION QUESTION 3

What have you learned from you audience feedback?

Once we finished constructing our main and ancillary texts, we presented this t a number of people to get feedback on our products. This was really useful because we could see what people liked an disliked about our texts. We were able to see our work from other peoples point of view. All of the people asked completed a questionnaire where I was able to get constructive and good feedback.

Here are some pictures of the class and my friend watching my documentary to then give me feeback for my questionnaire.

Here is a video and audio of somebody answering my questionnaire being filmed and somebody answering my questionnaire over a voice recorder.

I uploaded my documentary to YouTube where people were able to comment on it to give me feeback. On each comment they mentioned the editing which was really good to hear that our editing was done well which shows we used the toold in Premier Pro productively. Our goal was to explore different avenues of make-up which havent really been documented before, one comment says 'You have explored makeup in many different ways and we gain alot of information from this.' This is the exact response we were looking for so we are really happy with this. On the last comment they also mentioned that they liked the soundtrack which was our audiences chocie from our questionnaire before production so this was good to hear. Overall the commenets were really positive.

Here is a screen shot of my sister answering my questionnaire via Facebook inbox. I used this media to connect with people on the other side of the country to answer my questionnaire.

Here is a Slide share to show the results from my questionnaire. I added up all of the results and put them into graphs so I could make final conclusions on each question. This helped me to see what people liked and disliked about documentary on a whole.

EVALUATION QUESTION 4

How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

I used a wide range of media technologies throughout the research, planning and evaluation stages of my coursework. These have been used to make each stage of the process as professional and efficient as possible.

When I was planning my documentary, I used a variation of Microsoft Office Programmes to help to me to present my work in graphs, written and presentations. I also used the internet to find secondary information to include within my documentary content. Here is a presentation produced on Prezi to explain how I used these different forms of media in my Research and Planning.

I have produced a video to explain the new technologies which were used in the creation process of our work.

Here are the different media technologies used in my evaluation stages which have been useful in making my evaluation presented as professional and easy to read as possible.

DRAFT OF PRINT ADVERT DESIGN

Here is a simple sketch of what we want our Print Advert to look like. We have chosen for the girl to be placed on the left hand side of the screen in a close up shot with only her head and neck in the shot. We have split her face into two parts, one with makeup and one without. This shows the contrast of bare beatuty and rasies questions to our audience making it enticing. Complying to the codes and conventions of a channel 4 print advert we have included the Channel 4 logo on the right hand centre of the screen. I also have included the title, logo and scheduling information on the print advert for the benefit of our audience.
